About Luva Huva
I started the business Luva Huva in 2005. It all started with a small collection, which I sold in boutiques in Suffolk. In 2006 I widened the range and designed some bra bikinis to mix and match for the Ashton Court and the Big Chill festival.
After the success of the summer festivals I began to take orders over the Internet and also sell to few boutiques in Bristol. Now I am based in London. I plan to expand Luva Huva to selected markets, shops and upcoming festivals with a new added range of luxurious camisoles, pajamas and briefs.
What methods do we use?
Combining comfort with feminine style is my main priority. Each knicker is hand made with bows, frills and sometimes buttons to make a very special and unique pair of knickers to stand out in any collection.
My method of production minimizes environmental impact and I work as ecologically as possible. I use a variety of end of line fabrics, remnants and cut-offs that would otherwise go to waste. All the materials are sourced locally and every garment is handmade in the UK by myself, meaning my knickers have a small carbon footprint. Consequently they are not only beautiful but also ethically sound.
Joanna Ketterer
I graduated in printed textiles in 2004 from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. I then went on to exhibit with the New Designers in 2005, creating abstract textile wall hangings. I decided I wanted to make something that would be more practical. Inspired by some fabric that I had sourced and my enthusiasm for underwear, I designed and created my first pair of knickers. I soon became excited by the possibilities within lingerie. I found that there was a genuine demand for unique and stylish underwear.
